Oliver RCMP confirm the BC Coroners Service is investigating a drowning at Gallagher Lake 5km north of Oliver.

On Monday evening a 32 year old Oliver woman drowned after falling from a paddle boat into the lake.

Witnesses attempted to perform CPR before she was taken to South Okanagan General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Sgt Ken Harrington with the Oliver RCMP says prescription drugs and alcohol were potential aggravating factors.

No name has been released.
