A mother is disputing her teenaged daughter's claims of sexual abuse and forced prostitution at the hands of the girl's stepfather.

The mother, who can't be identified, has testified at the Penticton, B-C, trial of the man who faces a raft of charges, ranging from sexual assault and sexual exploitation to living off the avails of prostitution.

Speaking via video-link from her new home in Metro Vancouver, the mother told a provincial court judge there is nothing to forgive the man for, because she knows he hasn't done anything.

The woman's daughter, now 18, says her stepfather acted as her pimp during her last year of high school in Penticton so he could support his drug habit.

But the mother -- who also admits to selling drugs from her home when she lived in Osoyoos -- says her obesity kept her housebound and she never saw her husband abusing her daughter.

The man's trial is slated to resume next Wednesday with final arguments and the judge is expected to reserve his decision until a later date.
