Summerland Teen Lands Spot on Canadian Karate Team

Summerland karate champ Claire Boothe has earned a spot on Team Canada and will be heading down to Mexico this month to compete at the Junior Pan American Games.

The 17 year old Summerland Secondary school grad recently won gold at the National Championships in March and is looking forward to competing at the international level.

Boothe, who has been doing karate since she was six years old, landed a spot on the Karate BC Team after her gold medal win.

The Junior Pan American Championships begin on August 26th and runs until September 1st in Cancun and feature youth from 12 to 21 years old.
