Diamond Jubilee Awards Recognize Penticton Residents

Okanagan Coquihalla MP Dan Albas was on hand last Tuesday night in Penticton to present Diamond Jubilee Medals to five local residents.
The group was recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Medal recipients included Ernie Schneider of the Penticton Kiwanis Housing Society, Deb Silk the founder of Critter Aid, longtime community volunteer Sandra Henderson, Nikos Theodosakis who works with youth through the OliveUs Education Society and Gus Boersma who has accumulated several achievements through service in the public office.
The medal presentation is the third one in the Okanagan and the first one in Penticton.
The diamond Jubilee Medal was created in honour of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne.
The medals recognizes Canadians from all walks of life who have made a significant contributions to communities.
