The Penticton man found guilty of sexually assaulting and pimping out his teenage stepdaughter wants to appear via video for his sentencing hearing.

The man's defence lawyer James Pennington said his client, who cannot be named to protect the teen, made the request to appear by video because of security concerns at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.

Judge Gregory Koturbash says he will review medical documents before making his decision.

In August the accused was found guilty of all charges including sexual interference of a person under 14 and living on the avails of prostitution of a person under 18.

A sentencing date has yet to be set.
