KVR Trail Reopened With Upgrades Completed

10/18/2012

A segment of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail has been officially reopened after undergoing upgrades to the surface.

The $173,367 upgrades went to a 5.5 kilometre section from Sutherland Road to Vancouver Place.

The new surface boasts recycled asphalt making it smoother and more accessible for people with wheelchairs, mobility aids and strollers.

The textured surface was also redesigned to minimize the risk of slip related injuries, making the trail more attractive for people of all ages.

The upgrades were made possible thanks to a $138,694 grant from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development's Community Recreation Program.
