Osoyoos Chief Wins Award

The Better Business Bureau has announced the recipients of their annual Torch Awards.

The awards are given to people and organizations who are community minded and use ethical business practices.

Osoyoos Indian Band Chief Clarence Louie is the recipient of this year's Consumer Leadership Award.

Louie is being recognized for consumer advocacy, protection and education as well as improving his people's standard of living through various businesses on the Osoyoos reserve.

A presentation of the awards took place in Vancouver last week and organizations such as Mills Basics and Rogers Financial Group were among the recipients.
