Hollywood Style Police Chase in Osoyoos

11/1/2012

Two American men and a dog were sent back to the states last week after a wild police chase kept officers busy in Osoyoos.

The duo had been denied entry at the Osoyoos border crossing because of criminal records but decided to head over the mountains to get into Canada.

Cpl Jason Bayda with the Osoyoos RCMP says the chase involved rooftop runs and backyard fence jumps, but their reason for coming to town is even more strange.

"One of them had been dating a girl from another country that had lived in the States on a visa, her visa had expired. The plan was to pick her up and then take her back down to the States and then my understanding was as far down as Mexico for the summer."

Thanks to calls from residents who saw the pair running around they were arrested without incident.
